Heat Pump Technology Drives Dried Fruit Processing Upgrades: How One System Covers Multi-Category Production

Dernières nouvelles de l'entreprise Heat Pump Technology Drives Dried Fruit Processing Upgrades: How One System Covers Multi-Category Production

The global dried fruit market is projected to reach multibillion-dollar scale in the coming years, growing at a steady compound annual rate. Expanding healthy-snack consumption is forcing the processing side to adapt: dried fruit producers are no longer satisfied with equipment that merely "can dry." They need one system that switches flexibly between mango, fig, and apple, while keeping energy consumption and quality control within a predictable range.

In recent industry technical discussions, the multi-category adaptability of heat pump drying systems has become a focal point. Unlike conventional coal-fired or electric heating drying rooms, the core advantage of a heat pump system lies in its closed-loop energy-saving architecture: the evaporator recovers latent heat from the exhaust air, and the compressor lifts it before returning it to the drying chamber. For high-sugar fruits, this characteristic directly affects yield rates—when mango and fig surfaces case-harden too early, internal moisture is locked in, and the product is prone to softening or even mold during storage. The heat pump's low-temperature slow-drying mode allows moisture to migrate gradually from the interior toward the surface, reducing the probability of hard-shell formation.

At the same time, the role of the control system is shifting from "setting temperature" to "managing recipes." For a complete dried fruit processing system covering multiple categories, the PLC controller must store drying curves for different fruits: mango requires an initial higher-temperature phase to set color, then a drop to a moderate range to complete texture transformation; apple slices suit mid-temperature dehumidification throughout to avoid browning. This recipe-based switching capability lets equipment move quickly into apple or banana processing after mango season ends, without rebuilding air ducts or replacing core components.

The configuration of the pre-treatment section also affects multi-category compatibility. Bubble washing combined with brush-roller scrubbing removes field residues across different skin characteristics, while a thickness-adjustable multi-blade slicer covers specifications from thin fruit chips to thick-cut chews. The entire line is built in SUS304 stainless steel, and the heat pump unit has no combustion stage—simplifying approval for indoor plants that must pass food-safety audits.

For contract dryers and fruit cooperatives, the logic of equipment selection is shifting from "single-category dedicated lines" to "reconfigurable multi-category platforms." Behind this shift is real market demand for category diversity and supply flexibility—when retail simultaneously needs dried mango, apple crisps, and fig strips, one more degree of switching elasticity on the processing side means one less cost of shutdown and retrofit.
